General Advice on Shares
Relying only on share tips about shares is like trying to learn a foreign language using a tourist phrase book, which is why we warn investors not to rely only on investing tips
about shares they hear or read about in the media or stock newsletter and the like.
It is generally observed that if you are going to buy stocks or shares, you need to do your own homework - don't only rely on quick stock market tips and investment advice from media. Media advice is usually aimed at a wide audience - it may give general guidance but it cannot cater to your individual financial circumstances or investment strategies.
Buy shares only if they fit into an investment strategy or plan that suits your overall or specific needs and circumstances. Choose shares because you understand the company behind them and because you believe that the company is worth investing in. As a general rule for investors, shares are best utilized in a structured investment plan, not as a short-term 'quick-win' solution motivated only by market tips and media tips.
